PS6 — Sketching
A set of three sketches demonstrating ideation, rendering, and process communication across product design.
00

This project focuses on developing sketching as a core design skill through three different types of drawings: ideation, product rendering, and process explanation. Each sketch emphasizes a different aspect of visual communication, from exploring form variations to presenting refined designs and explaining fabrication workflows.
The first sketch explores ideation through multiple shape variations of a portable speaker. The goal was to quickly generate and communicate different form directions while maintaining consistent proportions and structure. This exercise emphasizes clarity in linework and the ability to iterate visually without relying on detailed rendering.
The second sketch is a high-fidelity rendering of a sports car, focusing on proportion, surface curvature, and shading. Marker and pencil were used to convey depth, material, and lighting, demonstrating an understanding of three-dimensional form and visual hierarchy.
The third sketch explains the molding and casting process from PS4 through a sequence of diagrams. It breaks down each step, from preparing the mold to pouring silicone and casting resin, using arrows and hand interactions to clearly communicate the workflow. The focus is on readability and storytelling, making the process understandable at a glance.
Together, these sketches demonstrate the ability to think, communicate, and refine ideas through drawing, highlighting sketching as both a design tool and a method of visual storytelling.
